NIWA Hamilton Opening

Tane te Wairoa (NIWA Hamilton) Opening

Macaela and Joanne attended the opening of Tane te Wairoa (NIWA Hamilton) on a cold and frosty morning in Hamilton at the beginning of August. The building was opened by Dr. Ayesha Verral, Minister of Research, Science and Innovation by revealing the impressive anchor stone and 6m long paddle. The opening was made all the more special with the display of partnership between Tainui and NIWA.

The laboratories contain a mix of temperature-controlled rooms, transitional and non-transitional open-plan laboratories and enclosed laboratories where the mechanical requirements were more specialised. Click the button below for the project case study.

The laboratory spaces reflect the environment that the NIWA scientists work within by introducing various shades of blue and grey across the floors and walls, adding interest to the laboratory workplace.  This compliments the workspace design by Warren & Mahoney.

Our thanks to Foster Construction for a fabulous experience during construction and to Warren & Mahoney, TBIG and Beca, it’s always great to work with you!
